Has anyone been involved in a tutoring group? What are the pros and cons of learning with others? Does being in a group defeat the object of having a private tutor or does the reduction in price for groups give great benefit?

We all know that this isn't a quick answer, but what are the general rules and rough guides on how much tutoring should cost? Should you pay more for a qualified tutor or a tutor in a popular subject? Is cheapest always the best option?
